We are the Rivacre Valley School Council!
We are the Rivacre Valley School Council and we work hard to fundraise for a variety of importnant charities and for our school. We also discuss important matters, such as mental health and how to stay safe in and around school.
If you have any ideas either for fundraising or for ways to improve our school please talk to your school council class representatives and they will bring your ideas to our next meeting.

World Down Syndrome Day Fundraising
To celebrate World Down Syndrome Day, on Friday 20th March the school council hosted a gingerbread sock sale and invited all of the children and teachers to come into school wearing bright, odd socks to raise money and awareness for Cheshire Down's Syndrome Support Group. The school council raised an outstanding £113.85. Thank you to everybody who bought a biscuit and came into school in their crazy socks to help us achieve this!
Morrisons Book Hamper Donation - World Book Day 2020
Rivacre Valley has been very lucky to receive a visit from Morrisons who have donated an amazing book hamper for our school library as part of this year's World Book Day celebrations! The school council had the opportunity to collect our incredible gift and put all of the books away in their new home in our school library. Thank you Morrisons!
Australian Bushfire Fundraising
Our amazing school council held a Koala raffle to raise funds for WWF who are supporting the Australian Bushfires. The school council raised £52.75 in total. We have donated £25 for our school to become a Koala Protector and £27.75 went to WWF's Emergency Australian Bushfire fund! Thank you to everybody who bought a ticket and has helped us to support this cause.
Christmas Hamper Raffle 2019
The school council sold raffle tickets for our Christmas hamper at the EYFS and KS1 Christmas performances. They raised a fantastic £230.51 for our school! Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket and congratulations to our winners Lyla-Lou and Martha Colclough!
Children In Need 2019
This year, throughout appeal week, the School Council hosted 'guess how many sweets are in the jar' and 'pin the pacth on Pudsey' at lunchtimes to raise money for Children In Need. To complete the week, all children across the school took part in the Big Morning Move with Joe Wicks and brought in a £1 donation. This year we raised a fantastic £247.16 to support disadvantaged young people across the UK. Thank you for all the donations!
#HelloYellow for YoungMinds 2019
On Thursday 10th October 2019 all of the children took part in #HelloYellow to raise money for YoungMinds. This World Mental Health Day we dressed in yellow and brought in £1 donation for YoungMinds. As a school, we raised £211.06 - showing young people they are not alone. Thank you everyone for your donations!
Clatterbridge Cancer Charity Fun Run 2019
As our final school council fundraising event of the year, our councillors planned a whole afternoon dedicated to raise money for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity. The children were sponsored by their fantastic families and friends to do a fun run around our daily mile track. As a school we raised a whopping £1728.81! A massive thank you to everyone who sponsored the children!
Decorate Your Own Easter Eggs 2019
This Easter, the school council wanted children to get creative and organised for children to decorate their own mini Easter Eggs! Chocolatey prizes went out to the two most egg-celent Easter egg designs from each year group. We raised almost £300 for our school! Well done to our winners and all the children who took part!
Red Nose Day 2019
This Red Nose Day the school council organised for the children to come into school dressed in red, sporting their red noses. We raised over £200 for Comic Relief!
Christmas Jumper Day 2018
Children came in to school wearing their Christmas jumpers and brought in £1 to support Save The Children. Together, we raised almost £200 - well done everybody!
Christmas Raffle 2018
The school council have raised over £350 for the school - thank you to everybody who bought a ticket!
The School Council announced the winners of the raffle and in first place was Shay McGoldrick.
In second place was Tristan Mckenzie.
In 3rd place was Ruby Douglas.
And in 4th place was Charlie and Ben Ness.
Where's the Elf Game Winners 2018
Today the School Council annouced the winners of the Where's the Elf game to every class and were pleased to say that Tyson Elson won the Elf!
In second place was George Kendrick third place was Brogin Mclaughlin.
Well Done to everyone who took part in the game!
Children in Need 2018
The School Council organised a fundraising event for Children In Need where the children guessed the name of the teddy bear and how many sweets were in the jar. They raised a fantastic £340!
