Children will enjoy the story of a young girl called Dora who doesn’t like bedtime. Each night, Dora and her toys are frightened to go to sleep because of a mysterious knocking noise coming from Dora’s wardrobe. One night, she finally summons up the courage along with her toys to open the door and discover it isn’t scary at all.

During our comprehension sessions, the children will answer simple retrieval questions about the text and recall events. They will examine the illustrations carefully and explore the author’s language choices. They will also predict what they think might be inside the wardrobe and infer how characters might be feeling at different points in the story. Finally, children will send advice to Dora in conquering her fears!
